Rovers U14 were victorious 2-1 over Sportsco Rangers in a title deciding game at Stoke Prior. It was Rovers day and title for the third successive Season, a huge achievement.
The U14, Managed by Jae Martin-White and assisted by his Son, Daniel needed a draw or win to clinch the top spot. Sportsco, who had beaten their rivals recently, 3-2 needed a win themselves to snatch the title from Rovers.
The game had the makings of a tense final day encounter and didn’t fail to disappoint. Both teams fought and battled hard, it a first half which ended 0-0.
The second half had all the thrills and spills, like a cup final. But their could only be one winner…
Ryan Cox scored a spectacular free kick and team mate Harry Hands curled a sublime effort into the top right corner to clinch the 3 points and Central Warwickshire U14 Premier Division Title for the team.
The group of players had now won the Premier Division Title for THREE seasons on the bounce, a breathtaking statistic, who needs Manchester City?
Manager, Jae Martin-White commented, “For the second Season, the title was decided on the last game of the Season. I am so so proud of these boys, they deserve all the success and praise,”
The Season is not over for the U14, they have a League Cup Quarter-Final vs. Solihull Moors to deal with this coming Tuesday at Stoke Prior, KO: 18:00pm, followed by an Open Cup Semi-Final away to Hampton on Sunday May 5th, KO: 12:45pm followed by an MJPL Cup Final vs. Aylestone Park Youth which is on Saturday May 18th at Butlin Road home of Rugby Town FC.
